Rocky's Head Start Program

Our Mission - is to be a supportive and safe learning environment for children and families by enhancing their sense of belonging and self-worth while encouraging them to reach their highest potential.

Curriculum - Head Start curriculum focuses on fostering the holistic development of children, emphasizing their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. It incorporates age-appropriate activities and experiences to enhance language and literacy skills, numeracy, and social skills. The curriculum also includes health and nutrition components, ensuring that children receive proper care and support for their overall well-being. Through a play-based and child-centered approach, Head Start aims to empower children with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful transition to school and lifelong learning.

Learning Environment - The Head Start learning environment is a nurturing space designed for the comprehensive development of children from low-income families. It emphasizes play-based, age-appropriate activities to foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Equipped with diverse materials, the environment encourages exploration, creativity, and positive social interactions. Additionally, it integrates health and safety components to ensure overall well-being, preparing children for a successful transition to formal education.

Comprehensive Assessment - Head Start employs a comprehensive assessment approach to evaluate children's development. Through observations, screenings, and targeted assessments, the program gauges progress in cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical domains. This personalized approach allows for early identification of strengths and areas needing support. By consistently monitoring developmental milestones, Head Start ensures tailored interventions, laying a strong foundation for each child's future success.
