Thank you to our
generous community for making a difference!
Every contribution counts and goes right where it belongs at RMDC! Your giving makes a concrete difference in the lives of families and individuals in our community – in YOUR community. An investment in RMDC helps provide the assistance our community needs right here in south-central Montana.
The Senior Companion Program brings together volunteers age 55 and over with adults in their community who have difficulty with the simple task of day-to-day living. The program's goal is to maintain the independence of homebound seniors and adults with specials needs, allowing them to continue living in their own homes.
HOW DO WE HELP?
Volunteers serve one-on-one with frail older adults, adults with disabilities, those with terminal illness, and offer respite for caregivers. Volunteers spend about 4 hours, one day per week with each client. This program serves 11 counties including Beaverhead, Broadwater, Cascade, Deer Lodge, Gallatin, Jefferson, Lewis & Clark, Madison, Park, Powell, and Silverbow.

Senior Companions assist their adult clients in basic but essential ways. Most assist in the following ways:

Volunteers must be committed to the programs' goals, professional ethics, vigorous participation and comfortable in accepting supervision.
