Youth on Track to Adulthood (YOTA)

The Rocky Mountain Youth Resources  YOTA program is designed to help prepare youth for adulthood while they live at either the Jan Shaw Youth Therapeutice Home for Girls or the Margaret Stuart Youth Home for Boys and Girls.

The goals of the 12-week program are:

  • Youth will work toward developing the respect that leads to keeping self, others, and property safe.
  • Youth will increase their understanding and experience of healthy relationships.
  • Youth will gain awareness of self and community.
  • Youth will development independent living skills including:
    • personal record keeping
    • employment
    • housing laws and protocols
    • banking and investing
    • the law
    • nutrition and menu planning
    • effective communications
    • healthy recreation
    • car and home repairs
    • education
    • health
